Wych Elm

(Ulmus glabra)

The Wych Elm grows as a deciduous tree and can reach a height of over 40 metres. Its trunk diameter reaches up to 2.7 metres and it can live for 400 years. The leaves of the Wych Elm have bristly hairs on top and are rough to the touch.

As part of the educational initiative "Biodiversity and Environmental Education", a green lawn was transformed into a colourful, species-rich garden on this site by the pupils of the Längenfeld Primary School and Middle School Nature Park Schools.
