Bumblebee

(Bombus)

Bumblebees are important for nature because they are good pollinators. This is the only way fruits we like to harvest can develop. Bumblebees pollinate fruit trees, berry bushes and various vegetable plants and can visit more than a thousand flowers every day. In Europe there are about 70 bumblebee species, 41 of these species are found in Austria.

Cooperation "Biodiversity and Environmental Protection

As part of the educational initiative "Biodiversity and Environmental Education", a green lawn was transformed into a colourful, species-rich garden on this site by the pupils of the Längenfeld Primary School and Middle School Nature Park Schools.
