Common Ash

(Fraxinus excelsior)

The Common Ash grows to a height of about 40 metres and its trunk diameter reaches up to 2 metres. The leaves of the Common Ash are pinnate with 9-15 lanceolate leaflets, which are clearly serrated. Ash wood is often used for tool handles, sports equipment and ladder rungs, because its wood has a high dynamic strength and elasticity.

Cooperation "Biodiversity and Environmental Protection

As part of the educational initiative "Biodiversity and Environmental Education", a green lawn was transformed into a colourful, species-rich garden on this site by the pupils of the Längenfeld Primary School and Middle School Nature Park Schools.
